Reflexology Class
Introduction to Reflexology Level 1.
(28 hours.)
This workshop deals with the basic of reflexology and its use in a simple session or in conjunction with other bodywork modalities. The participant will learn specific techniques that can be applied during a session as well as a basic understanding of the benefits of Reflexology and the theories supporting this form of treatment.
Objectives:
- The learner will have a working knowledge of the history of reflexology.
- Learner will understand the horizontal divisions on the foot that represent areas of the body.
- Learner will be able to discern and discuss Zone Therapy, Meridian Therapy and Chakra work.
- Learner will have an understanding of the workable theories dealing with the subject of Reflexology.
- The learner will be able to demonstrate finger walking and thumb walking techniques.
- The learner will be able to demonstrate technique dealing with Zones and guidelines on feet.
Instructional Methods:
Lectures, visual Aids, PowerPoint, Hand outs, Demonstration, Supervised Performance of Technique, Evaluation by Learner, Feedback and Student Summary.

Lesson Plan: 28 Hours
This class will be offered over a period of 4 weeks, with 7 hours each class using the book of Practical Reflexology as a reference and guideline.
Week One:
- History of reflexology
- Theory: Zone, Meridian, Chakra, Horizontal Guidelines
- Definition
- Pathology
- Contraindications
- Universal precaution
- Homework: review pathogies and read chapters 1 and 2.
- Practice
Week Two:
- Learn thumb & finger technique
- Look at feet learn imaginary lines, diagram, and chart
- Learn technique from head to diaphragm line
Homework: Chapters 5 and 6
Practice
Week Three:
- Complete mini-session technique
- Practice entire session
- Homework Practice
Week Four:
- Complete mini-session technique
- Practice entire long session
- Final Exam
